About Woodworking Diary

Like many people stuck at home during the coronavirus, I started watching woodworking videos, reading more than ever, and feeling the itch to build something lasting during a year when so few things felt concrete.

Woodworking Diary is a collection of notes from that process. It documents woodworking techniques I’ve learned, tools I’ve researched and bought, and mistakes I’ve made along the way. The focus is on practical, achievable projects and finishing techniques that hold up in real homes, not perfect showroom builds.

This site is written for hobbyist woodworkers who enjoy learning by doing and want straightforward guidance without the pretense. Many of the posts are problem-driven, based on real questions that come up during projects, such as how to apply finishes correctly, fix mistakes, or choose between different materials and methods.

Some articles include affiliate links to products I have used or researched. Any small commissions help offset the cost and time of running the site and do not influence what I choose to write about. If you have questions, corrections, or suggestions, I welcome the conversation.
